Current facilities of radical surgical treatment of cancer patients with comorbid severe cardiovascular diseases

Abstract

Till recently, radical surgery was contraindicated in cancer patients with severe cardiovascular diseases, palliative or symptomatic treatment was preferred. Current literature data and experience gained in the N.N. Blokhin Russian Cancer Research Center show that modern methods of examination and surgical treatment of severe comorbid cardiovascular diseases give cancer patients a chance of radical operation for cancer providing the best short- and long-term results of treatment.
