Abstract

The paper describes a rare case of formation of paravertebral extramedullary hemopoietic foci in microspherocytic anemia or Minkovsky-Shoffar disease in an adult.
Therapeutic splenectomy has led to regression of extramedullary hemopoietic foci, which supports that there is a direct relationship of the above formations to the specific features of the etiology and pathogenesis of microspherocytic anemia.
