Every year new studies expand the range of known biological processes that are regulated by miR-499a in the heart. In acute and chronic cardiovascular diseases accompanied by cardiomyocyte damage, miR-499a enters the bloodstream and can circulate there for a long time. At the same time, it is detected in plasma significantly earlier than traditional protein biomarkers, which makes it a new promising biomarker for early diagnosis and prognosis of heart diseases. This review describes the functions of human miR-499a and its involvement in the development of heart diseases. The data indicating the high diagnostic value of this miRNA in blood are presented.</p>
Приводятся данные, свидетельствующие о высокой диагностической значимости определения уровня этой микроРНК в крови.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>microRNA</kwd><kwd>miR-499a</kwd><kwd>cardiovascular system</kwd><kwd>heart diseases</kwd><kwd>gene expression</kwd><kwd>expression regulation</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>микроРНК</kwd><kwd>miR-499a</kwd><kwd>сердечно-сосудистая система</kwd><kwd>заболевания сердца</kwd><kwd>экспрессия гена</kwd><kwd>регуляция экспрессии</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group><funding-statement xml:lang="en">The research was carried out with the financial support of the Russian Science Foundation (grant No. 20-15-00353).</funding-statement><funding-statement xml:lang="ru">Исследование выполнено при финансовой поддержке Российского научного фонда (грант №20-15-00353).</funding-statement></funding-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>MIR499A microRNA 499a [Homo sapiens (human)] – Gene – NCBI.
