Scott and P. Grant that evolutionary fixed adaptation to seasonal environmental changes is impaired. Under the hypothesis, impairment in seasonal and circadian rhythms is the key condition for the occurrence of obesity, arterial hypertension (AH), and type 2 diabetes mellitus. The diseases of civilization, namely obesity, insulin resistance, and AH, are a direct result of chronic metabolic disturbance due to light pollution.</p>
<trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><p>Аннотация. "Болезни цивилизации" - ожирение, инсулинорезистентность и АГ - являются прямым следствием хронического нарушения метаболизма в результате "световой загрязненности".</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>melatonin</kwd><kwd>circadian rhythms</kwd><kwd>metabolic syndrome</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>мелатонин</kwd><kwd>циркадные ритмы</kwd><kwd>метаболический синдром</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><body></body><back><ref-list><ref id="B1"><label>1.</label><mixed-citation>Физиология человека.
